About the trainer
Hello, I'm Francis O'Neill
This page is really to let you know more about the
person offering you this training.
I work out of Evesham in Worcestershire -
where I have lived for the last ten years.
I am a qualified teacher with over
fifteen years experience in teaching and
training in IT/ICT (Information &
Communications Technology) within adult
learning - using both well known and some
'in-house' software.
I'm an advocate of lifelong learning and
particularly helping people gain confidence
in using computers and online facilities.
I've taught from beginners to the more
advanced learners.
Prior to offering training and support
through Progress with IT, I was an IT Lecturer at Gloscat (now
Gloucestershire College), and later the
ICT Trainer for a local district council...where I also ran a UK Online Centre.
Teaching experience I have taught across a wide range of
topics, on a one to one basis or in groups,
on courses heading towards IT
qualifications...
|
These have included the ECDL (European
Computer Driving Licence), CLAIT
(Computer Literacy & Information
Technology), NOCNs (National Open College
Network), and a range of City &
Guilds qualifications...
Teaching credentials
Apart from attending a fair amount of
non-accredited training in my time, I have
also taken a number of qualifications for
what I do...
These include teaching certificates, PGCE
(Post Grad. Cert. in FE), a C&G teaching
certificate and an ISM OnLine Trainer
Certificate. On the IT side I have
an RSA Advanced Diploma, ECDL,
and FirstClass Client
Administrator - for online
conferencing/teaching software. Learning
never stops however and only a while back I
attended training on Adobe Dreamweaver
CS4 - used in Web design and
development.
By the way, I have been
CRB checked in recent times, for local authority and college work.
